2025 Toyota Corolla Cross
Toyota South Africa has unveiled the updated Corolla Cross, a vehicle that has cemented itself as a favourite in the local compact SUV market. Since its introduction in 2021, the Corolla Cross has gained popularity, selling over 22,000 units last year alone and ranking as the second-best-selling passenger vehicle in the country.
The refreshed Corolla Cross builds on this success with notable upgrades to its design, technology, and safety features. Its exterior now features a bold geometric bumper and grille design, along with updated headlamps, sequential turn signals, and sleek Bi-Beam LED lighting on higher-spec models.
Inside, premium materials enhance the cabin, with updates such as real stitching, an electric parking brake, rear reclining seats, and USB Type-C ports. The interior technology has been upgraded with a larger, high-resolution display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a newly digitized instrument cluster for top-tier models.
Safety and convenience also take a step forward. The XR and GR-S variants now include advanced features like Toyota Safety Sense, a 360° Panoramic View Monitor, and a hands-free power tailgate. Across all grades, an electric parking brake has been introduced, improving ease of use.
The Corolla Cross has two powertrain options: a 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 1.8-litre hybrid system, offering fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Toyota’s focus on sustainability is underscored by its dominant position in the New Energy Vehicle market, holding 67% of the market share in South Africa.
