2023 Isuzu mu-X 1.9 LS AT
Isuzu Motors South Africa expands its mu-X line-up with the addition of a new model at the bottom-end of the line-up.
The new derivative, an LS 4×2 AT, is also powered by a new engine; this being the 1.9-litre turbodiesel mill also found in the D-Max bakkie. This engine produces 110kW and 350Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels via the automaker’s six-speed automatic transmission.
A rear diff-lock is fitted as standard.

Kevin Fouche, Department Executive: Product Planning and Programme Management at ISUZU Motors South Africa, says: “Adding a new entry-level 1.9-litre model significantly broadens the appeal of the mu-X.
“This is the first time we’ve offered the mu-X with the 1.9-litre engine and at this price point. We believe the timing is perfect due to the continued growth of the SUV segment.”
The new mu-X 1.9 LS 4×2 AT sells for R708 000, inclusive of a 5-year/90 000km service plan and a 5-year/120 000km warranty.
Comprehensive features list
Isuzu ensured that the new entry-level model to the mu-X is indeed fitted with an extensive list of standard features. The list includes privacy glass for rear passengers, a Norwegian Blue colour option, and roof rails and side steps.
The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, accompanied by a full-size spare wheel.
Inside, the cabin is the same as the rest of the range, boasting leather trim, and eight-way and four-way power adjustment for the driver and passenger seats, respectively.
Safety features includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with traction control, ABS brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist System (BAS), Brake Override Accelerator (BOA), Hill Start Assist (HAS), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Trailer Sway Control, and Cruise Control.
A seven-inch touchscreen system with integrated Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi, and front and rear USB charging ports provides seamless smartphone connectivity and charging options while on the move.
