2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan
Hyundai has launched its refreshed Grand i10 hatchback in South Africa and also used the time to introduce a new derivative to the range: the Grand i10 Sedan.
Two engines will power the range, the first being Hyundai’s 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is exclusive to the Grand i10 hatchback, offering 48.5kW and 94Nm. The next engine is a four-cylinder 1.2-litre mill, with 61kW and 114Nm at its disposal.
The Grand i10 Sedan is only available with the bigger capacity engine.
Both the hatchback and sedan are front-wheel driven, with power channelled to the road via either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic.
Well-equipped cabin
Though the interior layout of the Grand i10 Hatchback and Sedan is the same, the two are differentiated by colour themes. For hatchback, Hyundai opted for an all-black layout, while the Sedan has a mix between black and grey.
Though Fluid and Motion trim levels are on offer, both the hatchback and sedan are decked in cloth seats, with red detailing on the seats and air vents. There is also an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A rear-view camera, of which the image is relayed on the touchscreen, is standard. Other features include all-round electric windows, three cellphone charging options in the middle console, and a USB-C and USB ports.
The Fluid derivatives come with a multi-function steering wheel with cruise control buttons as well as remote control buttons for the infotainment sound system and telephone, while the Motion’s steering wheel is only equipped with the controls for the telephone and sound system.

A 7-year/200 000km manufacturers’ warranty is part of the package, as well as a 1-year/15 000km service plan and 5-years/150 000km roadside assistance.
