Only 46 units will be built, and TEN are destined for South Africa!

BMW M celebrated Valentino Rossi’s 46th birthday on 24 July 2025 by unveiling the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46, a limited-run car shaped by the nine-time motorcycle world champion. With only 46 units produced, of which 10(!) are destined for South Africa, this high-performance vehicle blends Rossi’s iconic style with BMW’s racing heritage, reflecting his influence as a BMW M works driver since 2023.

The M4 CS Edition VR46 comes in two variants: Sport and Style. Rossi, known for his trademark number 46, personally guided the design process, ensuring his flair shines through. The number 46 appears boldly on the doors, carbon-fibre roof, and interior details.

The Sport version sports a Marina Bay Blue metallic finish with a darker Tanzanite Blue 46, while the Style variant features a matt Frozen Tanzanite Blue body with a Frozen Marina Bay Blue 46. Yellow accents, inspired by Rossi’s favourite colour, highlight the kidney grille, brake callipers, and alloy wheels, with a hand-painted VR46 logo and Rossi’s signature on the roof.

Inside, the car’s Night Blue interior continues the yellow theme. M Carbon bucket seats in Black/Night Blue Merino leather feature yellow VR46 logos on the head restraints, echoed on the door sills and Alcantara steering wheel. A “1/46” badge on the carbon-fibre console marks each car’s exclusivity. Exposed carbon surfaces, like the bonnet indents, nod to Rossi’s racing roots.

Powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo, the M4 CS VR46 delivers 405 kW, hitting 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds (3.1 with a 1-foot (30.48 cm) rollout) and a top speed of 302 km/h. Its track-ready chassis, tuned dampers, and M xDrive system reflect Rossi’s input for precision handling, honed from his GT World Challenge Europe and Le Mans experience.

Buyers get more than a car – they’re invited to Italy for a two-day experience. Day one includes a visit to Rossi’s VR46 Motor Ranch in Tavullia for a braai and personal chat with “The Doctor.” Day two offers a BMW M Driving Experience at Misano, where Rossi won GT races in 2023 and 2024.

Rossi’s number 46, a symbol of his career from 125cc to MotoGP world titles, defines this car. “Seeing the M4 CS VR46 on the road or track will be cool,” Rossi said, proud of his role in its creation. Ten units will reach South Africa in Q3 2025, offering fans a chance to own a piece of his legacy.

With 115 Grand Prix wins and a global fanbase, Rossi’s influence extends beyond racing. This car, born from his vision, is a rolling tribute to his enduring impact on motorsport.
