Mercedes-Benz has introduced its latest masterpiece to the South African market: the CLE Coupé. This new model is set to make waves in the luxury car segment with its striking design, advanced technology, and a driving experience tailored for the discerning enthusiast.
The CLE Coupé’s aesthetic appeal is undeniable. The car’s sleek, flowing lines and dynamic contours are a testament to Mercedes-Benz’s design philosophy of Sensual Purity. Under the hood, South African customers can choose between two power options: the CLE 200 and the CLE 300, both featuring the brand’s renowned 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. These engines are equipped with a second-generation integrated starter generator (ISG), which not only boosts performance at lower speeds but also enhances fuel efficiency through intelligent energy management systems.
The CLE Coupé’s driving dynamics are further refined by the 9G-TRONIC transmission, which has been optimized for seamless integration with the ISG. This combination ensures smooth power delivery and an almost imperceptible start-stop function, making city driving a breeze. The advanced all-wheel drive system offers improved torque distribution, enhancing grip and stability on all surfaces.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the CLE 200 produces 150kW/320Nm, while in the CLE 300 4MATIC the same engine offers 190kW/400Nm. In the latter, 0-100km/h is cleared in 6.2 seconds and the top speed is 250km/h.
