Mercedes-Benz has updated its compact SUVs, the GLA and GLB, with significant enhancements and additional standard features.
The GLA now sports a new radiator grille, a redesigned front bumper, and a bonnet with subtle power domes, giving it a more powerful and confident look. The lighting has been upgraded with LED High-Performance headlights and LED rear lights. The GLA is available in a new Spectral Blue colour, with additional wheel designs ranging from 18 to 20 inches.
Inside, the GLA features a free-standing double-screen setup, consisting of a 7-inch instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch multimedia display as standard. Optional are two 10.25-inch wide-screen displays. The steering wheel is leather as standard, with ARTICO imitation leather as an option. The latest MBUX system offers new display styles and enhanced functionality, including wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an additional USB-C port, and improved voice assistant capabilities.
The GLA’s petrol engines are now mild hybrids, featuring a 48-volt system that provides extra power and improved fuel efficiency. This setup supports better starting, boosting, and recuperation during braking.

Updated GLB
The GLB has also received a makeover with a redesigned front bumper, a new radiator grille, and striking full-LED headlights and rear lights. It shares the new Spectral Blue Metallic colour option and offers new wheel designs up to 20 inches.

Standard equipment for the GLB has been upgraded to include Highbeam Assist, a reversing camera, and a USB package. The latest MBUX system is included, with new display styles and enhanced connectivity options like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features have been improved with Active Steering Control, a new Parking Package with 360-degree visualisation, and Trailer Manoeuvring Assist.

Engines
The GLB is available with a GLB 220 diesel engine, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and offered in both 5- and 7-seater configurations, making it the only 7-seater option in its segment. The 2.0-litre engine produces 140kW and 400Nm.
The GLA is powered by two turbocharged engines. The GLA 200 features a 1.3-litre mill with 120kW and 270Nm on offer. The diesel-powered GLA 200 d is good for 110kW and 320Nm, with a claimed fuel return of 5.3-litres/100km.
Overall, the updated GLA and GLB provide more advanced technology, improved safety features, and enhanced driving experiences, catering to diverse customer needs while maintaining their distinctive Mercedes-Benz quality and style.
