LDV ready to rattle Ranger, Hilux with new T60 bakkies

A new bakkie has entered the chat and it's about to get heated.

The popular LDV T60 bakkies have officially entered the South African market.

The range starts at R480 000, offering ten different double-cab models with manual or automatic transmissions and optional 4×4 on the Elite and Pro models, while the MAX models come standard with 4×4.

All LDV T60 models come with numerous safety and comfort features, including front and side airbags, disc brakes, three rear seatbelts with ISOFIX anchor points, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS, and emergency brake assistance (EBD).

Comfort features include cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, power steering, and electric windows.

LDV T60 Elite

The T60 Elite is the entry-level model, available in both two- and four-wheel drive with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission. It is powered by a Euro IV turbo-diesel engine delivering 120 kW and 375 Nm of torque, with selectable driving modes (ECO, NORMAL, POWER). The 4×4 versions feature an electronic selector for different driving modes.

Inside, the Elite models have a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, reverse camera, USB ports, and a 12V power socket.

LDV T60 Pro

The T60 Pro, available only in 4×4, builds on the Elite and is distinguished by its larger grille, headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps, fog lamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. It also includes a chrome sports bar, side steps, and roof rails.

The interior features vegan leather seats, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and a reverse radar system. Additional safety features include driver fatigue monitoring, lane departure warning, and tyre pressure monitoring.

The Pro model also has a Euro V turbo-diesel engine and six airbags.

LDV T60 MAX

The top-of-the-line T60 MAX, available in PRO and LUXE variants, boasts a 2.0-litre dual-turbo diesel engine with 160kW and 500Nm of torque, one of the most powerful in its class. It offers a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission and standard 4WD with electronic selectors for different driving modes.

The T60 MAX has a distinctive design with a large central grille, LED headlamps, and various sporty features. The LUXE variant includes dark fender mouldings, 19-inch alloy wheels, and door protection strips.

Inside, both MAX models are packed with luxury and safety features. The PRO variant includes high-grade cloth seats, additional ADAS systems, and smart entry/exit. The LUXE model adds leather seats, a 360-degree view monitor, wireless charging, and heated seats.

All LDV T60 models come with a 5-year/200,000 km mechanical warranty and a 5-year/100,000 km service plan.
