Valtteri Bottas is an official Alfa Romeo afficionado!
The Finnish Formula 1 driver took delivery of an Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm – the most powerful car ever produced by the Italian automaker. The driver traveled to Turin, Italy, for the occasion, and was joined by some of the brand’s top representatives.
Bottas, who had been a lifelong Alfa Romeo fan, not only became a fully-fledged customer, but was also announced as the Italian automaker’s new ambassador.
“I’m clearly a lifelong car enthusiast. But most of all I love the Alfa Romeo Brand. It is an honor for me to be an ambassador of the brand and now to become a customer, owner of one of the 500 Giulia GTAs,” Bottas said.
“It’s a technically excellent vehicle, realized in collaboration with Sauber Engineering by leveraging the expertise and technical know-how that comes directly from F1, but for us car and motorsport enthusiasts it represents so much more.”
Giulia GTAm specs
The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm is powered by a Ferrari-sourced 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine, delivering 403kW. It allows the Giulia GTA siblings to sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds while hitting a top speed of more than 300km/h.
The Giulia GTA is 100kg lighter than the Giulia Quadrifoglio, with the GTAm even lighter thanks to a stripped-out two-seat cabin.
With both the GTA and GTAm, the ultimate focus was downforce, with it being achieved through technical expertise that comes directly from F1, thanks to the synergy with Sauber Engineering and the use of the Sauber Aerokit.
These are all attributes that convinced the driver to invest in the brand.
