Suzuki Auto is thrilled to announce that South African dealerships will soon begin delivering the highly anticipated, all-new Suzuki Swift to excited customers nationwide.
Unveiled at the Festival of Motoring in Kyalami this past August, the latest Swift has drawn significant interest from both current Suzuki enthusiasts and prospective buyers. Sporting a refreshed design, a new engine, and an all-new CVT option, the Swift is set to impress.
The new Suzuki Swift lineup features five models, ranging from the entry-level Swift 1.2 GL with a manual transmission to the top-tier 1.2 GLX CVT. Each model is powered by Suzuki’s next-generation Z12E engine, delivering 60 kW and 112 Nm of torque. This refined three-cylinder engine provides the same power as its predecessor but with improved fuel efficiency, thanks to an upgraded multipoint fuel-injection system, enhanced thermal management, and a lightweight curb weight starting at just 908 kg, depending on the model.
Standard features across the entire range include power steering, digital climate control, a digital information display, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, LED rear tail lamps with a high-mounted LED stop light, an immobilizer and alarm system, rear parking sensors, and electrically adjustable, foldable side mirrors. Additionally, every model comes equipped with electric windows for all four doors, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and a rear bench with a 60/40 split-folding capability.
Safety is a priority in the new Swift lineup. All models come with six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), hill hold control, emergency brake assist, and ISOFIX anchorage points for child seats, making the Swift one of the safest options in its class.
Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL
Priced at R219 900, the Swift 1.2 GL offers a compelling entry point into the range. This model includes essential features for safety and comfort, with 165/80R14 steel wheels and a space-saving spare in the trunk. Manual-transmission variants also come with an Engine Auto Start/Stop system as standard.
Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL+
For those seeking a balance of value and features, the Swift 1.2 GL+ offers a choice of five-speed manual or CVT transmissions and is priced at R239 900 for the manual and R259 900 for the CVT version. In addition to the GL features, the GL+ upgrades to 185/65 R15 alloy wheels and includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GL+ also boasts a steering wheel with audio and hands-free phone controls, plus a built-in rear-view camera for added convenience.
Suzuki Swift 1.2 GLX
Combining compact luxury with advanced features, the Swift 1.2 GLX models introduce automatic LED projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, LED fog lamps, and automatically closing side mirrors. Inside, the GLX steps up with fully automatic climate control, a larger 9-inch infotainment display, additional tweeters, a leather-wrapped adjustable steering wheel with cruise control, and for the CVT model, paddle shifters for enhanced driving control.
The Swift 1.2 GLX manual is available at R264 900, while the GLX CVT tops the range at R284 900.
Every new Suzuki Swift model comes with a 2-year/30 000 km service plan (with 15 000 km intervals) and a promotional 5-year/200 000 km warranty, which includes comprehensive roadside assistance.
