The final Jaguar F-TYPE sports car rolled off the production line.

In a poignant moment for British automotive history, the last Jaguar F-TYPE has rolled off the production line at Castle Bromwich, marking the end of an era for the iconic sports car. This final model, a stunning 5.0-litre V8 Convertible in Giola Green, will take its place in the prestigious Jaguar Heritage collection, exactly 50 years after the last E-type was produced.

The F-TYPE’s significance to Jaguar cannot be overstated. As the brand’s first two-seat sports car in almost four decades, its 2013 launch represented a bold reawakening of Jaguar’s storied performance legacy. Its immediate acclaim, crowned by the 2013 World Car Design of the Year award, underscored its impact on the automotive world.

The final F-TYPE mirrors the last E-type Series III Convertible from 1974 in its elegance, featuring a black roof and a Tan Windsor leather interior. This homage to its predecessor is a nod to Jaguar’s rich heritage as it transitions into a new chapter.

Handed over to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT), this special F-TYPE will join the historical ranks alongside the last E-type, participating in a series of celebratory events. The production conclusion of both the F-TYPE and E-type on nearly identical dates underscores a historical symmetry as Jaguar stands on the brink of a transformative future.

Rawdon Glover, Managing Director of Jaguar, reflects on this milestone:

“The singular vision of Jaguar’s founder, Sir William Lyons, was to always be future-facing, relevant and original. This has been the foundation of Jaguar through almost a century of evolving contemporary British luxury.

“Today, as we celebrate F-TYPE and our 75-year history of innovative Jaguar sports cars, we are also looking forward to the beginning of a new era. We will reimagine and elevate the Jaguar brand that will be focused on growing client intimacy and engagement, underpinned by our purpose to inspire like no other.”

Since its debut, 87 731 F-TYPEs have been produced, with availability continuing until early 2025. This sports car has cemented its place in Jaguar’s history, not only for its performance but for reviving the brand’s legacy of producing world-class sports cars. It follows the path of the beloved E-type, of which 72 528 units were made, including a final special run of 50 cars.

As the last F-TYPE joins the JDHT collection at Gaydon, it sits alongside other significant models like the XE, XF, and XF Sportbrake, whose production has also recently ended. The exit of the F-TYPE marks a significant moment for Jaguar enthusiasts and the automotive industry alike, as the brand looks forward to an electrifying future while honouring its illustrious past.
