2023 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max
Chery South Africa turned the market on its head – again – with the introduction of the upgraded Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro Max.
Offering class-leading features and luxuries, the SUV’s refreshment covers both exterior enhancements and interior updates. Outside, a new grille encapsulates the Chery logo, and the light-up sequence of the LED Matric headlights and LED daytime running lights add to the SUV’s unique signature.
The panoramic sunroof, diamond cut alloy wheels, and wheel arches remain a constant on the new model.
Inside, Chery’s designers went for a new design direction to give the Tiggo 8 Pro range that extra special feeling. For starters, two 12.35-inch screens form an extended digital screen that’s nearly 25-inches long, displaying vehicle information and multimedia. These screens are both customizable.
A set of haptic touch-sensitive buttons replace the screen on the lower level of the centre console.
Perhaps one of the more impressive features is the addition of a 50W fast wireless phone charging pad.
Familiar power
The Tiggo 8 Pro is powered by Chery’s 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine offering 145kW and 290Nm. The torque is available within a wide window ranging from 2 000 – 4 400rpm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, channeling power to the front wheels.
For the Tiggo 8 Pro Max, Chery opted for its 2.0-litre engine. The turbocharged mill offers 187kW and 390Nm, with the same automatic gearbox also sending power to the front tyres.
The Tiggo 8 Pro Max will run from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds, while fuel consumption is a claimed 7.6-litres/100km for a estimated driving range of 671km.
Pricing
The Tiggo 8 Pro comes standard with a 5-year/60 000km service plan, while the Tiggo 8 Pro Max boasts a 7-year/90 000km service plan. Both SUVs comes with a 5-year/150 000km mechanical warranty and Chery’s 10-year/1 000 000km engine warranty.
